Hi all,
I was doing 16:8 before Christmas for about 2 months, had moderate success (lost 5lbs, I’m at a healthy weight just want to get rid of 10lbs).
Of course put it back on over Christmas, I’ve been back on the wagon for 2 weeks and I’m really struggling with headaches and not being able to sleep.
Does anyone know why? I’m definitely getting enough calories, I totted up 2000kcals yesterday (I know not ideal for weight loss but I’m trying to get into the fasting groove before putting too much pressure on what I’m eating)
Bit frustrated as it really worked for me before Christmas, I got reduced appetite, felt more energy, had the gradual weight loss.
Am I underestimating how long it takes to adjust?
If I had to guess maybe you are lacking in nutrients?
I am no expert on stuff like electrolytes / salt , or stuff like that
But I know that once I begin eating healthy and consuming a variety of healthy foods daily, if I happen to lack any important nutrients or food, I will feel extremely uncomfortable
It’s your body’s way of communicating with you telling u that u need something.
I could be wrong and it could be that ur lacking electrolytes or something from the Fasting idk
But incase I am right. Try making yourself fruit shakes daily. Can use water or any type of milk you like. Mix in ur fav fruits with some greens. Banana helps smooth out the taste
See if that helps, or check the faq, a lot of info there .
I had an issue where on the third day of a fast I almost passed out and was extremely dizzy , I was directed there and began to understand I was missing electrolytes
It can possibly be an issue unrelated to fasting like maybe u need more vitamins or omega fatty acids? Hard to say just guessing here lol
Your body could also simply be readjusting to the fast. But I think most likely ur just lacking some kind of nutrient or mineral or something
I had the same experience on my third week 16hrs fasting, i remember thinking on stop doing it but on my 4th week i saw improvements, hrv got higher and my sleep its better than it was in months now. One thing i can say it’s that if you feel anxious about your next meal it can really keep you awake at night. Just my 2c.
