16:8 with my wife trying to help her. ☺️

40M and 41F not sure of weights, more so looking for health and energy. I am going along with my wife for support, and the first two days we started on Monday, I did 20:4 and cut the sugar out of my coffee I usually drink it black anyway. She really struggled with the switch to 16:8, there were some smiling death threats and a few we aren’t friends, but I’ve been preparing her food and restricting carb intake, she says because I’m a sadist. Just looking for any helpful tips, she doesn’t drink coffee without creamer, so it’s been tough for her to delay her breakfast cravings. Any tips are appreciated!!! Thanks all.

We have been going 16:8 with Keto (low carb) for 10 days now. I’ve already lost 4lbs. Wife has been getting some headaches but otherwise she is good. We switched to espresso in the morning and drink a ton of water. Fast is 8pm to Noon. At noon we allow ourselves propel and some coffee with sugar free creamer but not a ton. I really like this “plan” feel much better. Good luck

How much health? How much more energy? Do you need more energy so something specific? I would definitely chase a specific goal, it will help hold yourself accountable, once you reach that goal, set another one! Your success is your best motivator to your spouse. You can only control yourself anyway, they need their own goals for it to stick!

Good luck IM is a great tool.

I’d consider trying to cut simply white starch carbs rather than carbs altogether…….. whole foods tend to digest slower and are of course more nutrient dense……… (roasted root veggies with balsamic are a staple chez moi !).
