You’re struggling because you’ve been eating food on auto pilot for 19 years, everyone struggles while water fasting. Your brain is confused and panics a little. First few days are usually the toughest because you’re burning off glycogen stores (stored sugar/carbs) once you get into ketosis, which means all sugar is burned off and you start burning your own fat, you will feel better and the appetite will subside and be easier to manage. Drink lots of water and supplement with salt if possible. Its all a mental exercise at this point. Sleeping helps too.
The “hunger hormone” ghrelin is a large factor in these waves of hunger pangs apparently. I’ve read that ghrelin spikes around times you would normally find people having their meals, but subside within 2 to 3 hours.
