Ok so i’m new to intermittent fasting,
i have two questions, some say that it doesn’t matter what you eat but i’m assuming you still have to be in a caloric deficit right ? and second of all, how long did it take you guys to adapt to the fasting, im on day 2 and i stop eating at 7, but tonight i’m feeling really weak
Answer
If you want to lose weight then yes, you have to be conscious of what you eat and be in a calorie deficit. You can easily gain weight while intermittent fasting if you eat too much consistently (unfortunately, I know this from experience). As far as adapting, it took me about a week to get in the swing of things and for the cravings to go away outside of my eating window. Are you feeling physically weak? Are you eating enough or have you cut back drastically? How’s the quality of what you’re eating (protein, veggies, etc.)?
Answer
- You can eat whatever but yes, if you eat over your maintenance calories, you will gain weight. To calculate your maintenance calories, insert your stats here and choose sedentary activity level https://tdeecalculator.net
- for some, they see the best effects when they do adjust their diet. Whether it be low carb, high protein, or simply adding more veggies to their plate. I would start small, and make gradual changes.
- I do OMAD (dinner) and I felt adjusted to it after about a week or two. Stick with it!
