39 hours in, I ate two teaspoons of Chili Con Carne, did I break my fast autophagy wise??

Hi,

I am fasting because I want to lose 10k (SW: 68kg/150 pd, CW: 64,5/142 pd: GW: 59/130 pd, length: 173 cm) and because of autophagy.

I started with a 24 hour fast, then OMAD. Now I want a 72 hour fast, but yesterday I was feeling dizzy and lightheaded. So I drank hot water with salt in it. That helped a bit but not much. There is potassium and magnesium and electrolytes in the water I drink.
So, in the end I decided to take 2 teaspoons of Chili Con Carne. That helped. Now I’m worried I broke my fast autophagy wise.

On the Internet I read that you can take 2 cups of bone broth without breaking your autophagy fast, but there are very contradicting stories. So therefore I’m asking here.

From what I am reading and viewing, bone broth is typically used when breaking your fast..something I am doing today. No doctor nor have extensive expience hwoever I’d say possibly you broke it tbh. Don’t let urseld down however just restart.

On this subreddit there is a widespread belief that having 50 or 100 calories will reset a fast. The reality is a person in ketogenesis will continue to produce ketones as there is simply not enough calories to meaningfully raise blood sugar. Even if you had a 500 calorie portion of white rice, your sugars would rise and but you would not be able to restore that much glycogen and you will shortly be in ketogenesis again. On the other hand doing OMAD with a surplus and plenty of carbs will give you a lot of glycogen in the liver and increase the time to ketogenesis compared to a lower calorie meal. So it is not just about when you eat but how much.
