4/5 Days - Hard Lump in Lower Abdomen

I’m 101 hours into my first multi-day dry fast (soft). Since day 2, I’ve noticed that my lower abdomen (centered just below my belly button) is oddly puffed out, like there is a pouch of something there (not fat), and it is relatively firm when I run my hand over it. It’s still present now and extra noticeable because my upper abdomen/waist area is much smaller right now. There’s no pain or discomfort.

If it matters, I’m female. Anyone experienced this or know what this could be?

I say get it checked out as well. But I think you should also be willing to tell the docs you’ve been dry fasting. If they’re trying to figure out what’s going on, they will need all the information. And the reality of it is, going without food and water can definitely impact your body. =Usually= short term dry fasts are safe for =most= people. But it’s not a universal truth. Also, a 4-5 day dry fast is pretty extreme if you haven’t worked up to it via previous fasts.

My thoughts went to possibly some sort of bowel blockage, or maybe something to do with the uterus. Bowel blocks can sometimes occur with extended water fasting. I assume a dry fast may increase those odds as less water means firmer stool…

Also, if you have had any former surgeries in that area, it could be a build up of scar tissue.

But really, we’re just redditors theorizing about medical stuff. Not doctors. For sure better to get it checked out.
