5 day fast - hemorrhoid no bm

Hello i will be attempting a 5 day fast to try and see if my body heals my hemorrhoids. A key thing is to make sure i don’t have a bm and not eating will ensure that right? Any tips? I’ve never willingly done a continuous 5-7 day fast before. I didn’t eat anything for 7 days in December when i was bed ridden due to a nasty virus and i don’t recall having a bm so it should be fine. Body goes into healing mode 2 days in right so that’s 3 days of healing, maybe i should do 7 days but it’s very hard. Will be drinking water and lucozade sport orange for electrolytes and some energy. I can’t afford to buy the minerals to do the usual electrolytes implementation that is recommended on this sub.

Answer

It’s not uncommon to have several bowel movements during extended fasts, even a few days after your last meal.

I googled Lucozade and the nutrition shows that it’s primarily sugar with minimal salt and no potassium or magnesium. Sugar interrupts autophagy, which is what you’re seeking for healing.

If you’re in the UK, LoSalt is an inexpensive source of sodium and potassium that’s available in grocery stores, and magnesium pills are also easily accessible and affordable. Magnesium will be helpful for reducing any straining when you have bowel movements.

Best of luck!
