I completed a 5 day a few weeks ago after failing multiple times. My advice is proper hydration, I did electrolytes at night as well. I highly recommend daily stretching to stay limber, adequate sleep and caffeine if you’ll allow to help a lot in the first 2-3 days of hunger.
I stopped when I started having heart palpitations, as I have brachycardia. So just pay attention to your body and STOP if you feel anything beyond hunger, and overall fatigue. Those will pass and become easier but anything else should be a flag to reassess.
You have caught me at an odd time as I generally do not do extended fasts much anymore, but in the lead up to the Super Bowl I am this week on a 7 day (began yesterday) for a challenge I am involved in.
I have done quite a few 5 days in my tenure but this will be my first 7. I am guessing days 2-3 will suck the most as this has been my experience previously. I am not looking to lose any weight anymore, but it feels good to be pushing my limits a bit.
