5 days omad or 3 days water fasting?

I am thinking of losing some weight and fasting this week… Will it be better to do 5 days omad or 3 days water fasting? Which will make me lose more weight? Which one do you guys prefer? Water fasting or omad? I know there is a lot of people with fasting experience here… I would appreciate the advice. Thanks

Depends on the person. For me it would be the 3 day water fast by far.

I could eat 1500 calories on the OMAD days for sure, if I wasn’t tracking. Which would only be a 200 cal deficit for me. So five days of OMAD would only come out to like half a pound lost, at most.

The 3 day water fast on the other hand, would reasonably lose 1.5lb easily for me. I am good about not binging and eating too much after a water fast, mostly because I did it one time and it made me feel really sick so now I know to reintroduce food slowly.

I would say water fast.

But the best option is the one you can stick to and feel comfortable with. If you have zero experience in a 3 day fast it can be very hard to do and after it it’s possible that you will overeat and lose some progress you made while fasting. I’m not saying it will happen but it’s possible.

Also, fasting isn’t a miracle tool for losing weight. You won’t lose a lot of weight during a 3 day fast.
