A question about Keto while doing IF at the same time....

I know it takes anywhere from 4 days to 1 week to get your body into ketosis. After you are in ketosis, if you have a cheat meal like a donut or ice cream, will it completely take you out of ketosis making it necessary for you to take another 4 days/1 week to get back into ketosis?

Answer

In My experience, It also depends on how long you have been doing keto and how quickly your body is adapted and switch’s from Carb Burner to fat burner.

I have Been keto since 2015 and go over my limit of carbs and quickly get back down to Fat burner, But I am in a maintenance weight mode and find it easier than when I was in losing weight Mode

Answer

To put it simply, yes.

It’s really not fair to say it tax X amount of time to get back into ketosis because that’s very, very relative to a bunch of factors.

It could take 1 day or it could take a week. Totally situation dependent.

When you are new to a ketogenic diet and you are not fat adapted, it is not recommended that you have ANY “cheat meals” at all for 8-12 weeks. Some people can get fat adapted in 4 weeks, some 6, some 8, some 12. All depends. But it’s recommended you commit to getting into ketosis for awhile before taking breaks.

Otherwise it just screws with fat adaption and you end up going through the whole ketosis process multiple times which can suck for people before they are fat adapted.

Once you are better fat adapted you can bounce in and out more efficiently and with less side effects.
