A question about PMS, i guess

Hello, 25f with PCOS and dismenore here! I have been doing almost 22:2 IF usually (meeting with friends or business meetings don’t count) since June and it has been going great. I have no problem with hunger, for my health problems I’ve tried 3,4 and even 10 day water fast. Passed it with flying colors. I feel wonderful with IF and weight loss made me happier to be honest. But…

Although having PCOS, my periods are fairly regular and nearing the time, I am going insane with the idea of food. I want to eat everything. Every snack, every fast food. I hold myself because seriously this is not an easy journey, so far my efforts made it easy and i know it will sound ridiculous but i respect my own hardwork. Mentally though I am struggling. After having my period, I go back to my usual self.

My question is what can i do to cope with it? Something i love, which is IF, becomes a pain during this times.

Note: I am sorry for the mistakes, English is not my first language.

Always prioritize your mental health is my motto. My body is going through enough stress during period time for me to add to its stress by not eating or whatever. I’m fairly comfortable with prolonging my weight loss journey and this is what I do.

Nice work, I have PCOS too and it does make weight loss hard. I also struggle with food in the week before the period. What helps is to be a bit easier on myself, by accepting that it’s just one week/a few days. I will have shorter fasting times during that time and accept that my body needs more food for now. In reality, the body is preparing itself “just in case” there is a pregnancy, so it’s doing what it’s supposed to. Realising that helped me give myself some grace around this time.
