Acid reflux, causing stomach pain and forcing myself sick.

Lately I’ve been having upset stomach pains, causing me to feel sick. Bad bowl movements is another side effect. Anyone have tips on how to avoid this? I do the 20/4 plan. Anything I can take to ease the pain? Thanks

ACV + water for instant relief. As for prevention, from personal experience I’d say:

Right now I’m also suffering from acid reflux after overeating and downing soda

Answer

The acid reflux and nausea may be GERD. You might have been on the borderline before and got pushed over into symptoms when you consolidated your eating into one big meal. A few ideas…

  1. Look up the GERD diet and cut back on the trigger foods- fried, spicy, tomatoes, etc… It’s a pain in the ass but if you go very simple with your diet (chicken, fish, rice, vegetables, fruits) until it simmers down, you can add back the trigger foods one at a time. Most people aren’t stuck on a bland diet forever and most people aren’t triggered by everything on the list, especially if they give their body a break for a while.

  2. Use your full eating window and space your intake throughout it.

  3. Set your eating window to be as close to lunch as possible and see if that helps. Avoiding meals before bed takes a lot of pressure off your system.

  4. See a nutritionist or primary care doc for the GERD systems if you aren’t able to get ahead of it. Sometimes ulcers can mimic those symptoms and ulcers can often be treated with antibiotics.
