So I learned about IF during the pandemic and found that it really helped me to lose weight. I (5’7m) was considerably heavier in 2020 at 190 lbs. After spending the first two-three months of the pandemic drinking and binge-ing netflix, I finally got came across IF videos and began by doing 16:8 fasts, then 18:6, and then OMAD. I went from 190 lbs, to 145 lbs. My energy level was up, my attention was sharp, my hunger was low and manageable.
I found it super easy to do IF during the lockdowns since I could stay at home, cook for myself, clean, exercise on my own schedule. Since returning to in-person work, I find it so much more difficult to adjust my routines to accommodate my more demanding lifestyle. I find that one of the most difficult parts is the social aspect. Weekends and weeknights are usually full of bars and restaurants.
I used to be able to do an IF for weeks on end, and now I find it difficult to do an IF for more than three days a week. I’ve gone from 145 to 165 in the past six months. I want to go back down to 150 and don’t think that would be super difficult, I am just finding it hard to get back on track. Any help to getting motivated and on track again? Anyone else experience fall back?
Yeah dude. There isn’t really a secret recipe to it. Just do it.
If there were any advice I could give, don’t put yourself in a situation where you’re more likely to compromise your fast. If you’re anything like me, you don’t eat responsibly. If you put yourself in a situation where you have to depend on your own judgement, you’re probably going to make the wrong choice.
If I go to a restaurant before my fast is supposed to break, I’m going to eat. Simple, don’t go to the restaurant.
It def works. I went from 300lb to 250lb in 5 months in 2019. Then vivid hit and I got sent to work from home. Started staying up later, which meant snacking and before you know it was off the rails again. Now back up to 270lbs where I’ve been about a year. Finally decided it’s time to get back to it. Honestly, it was the easiest “diet” I ever followed. First week or two is rough for cravings but after that it gets so easy if you stay vigilant
