Advice on a good first meal to break my fast for 2 meals a day?

Asking for advice from you good people on meals. (81 year old male, good health, active, BMI 25.7). I’ve been doing 18/6 for about a year now and am comfortable with it. Trying to eat for my microbiome recently, to feed the little critters in there! My weight is stable and I feel good but I’m thinking I eat way too much during my 6 hour eating window and want to actually plan 2 meals around about 1800 calories and not just munch all afternoon on grapes or nuts. A light first meal at 1 pm and then the rest of my food around 4 or 5 pm. sounds right to me but I’m open for advice here too since this is new.

Any advice on a good first meal to break the fast for 2 meals a day? Something i can standardize to keep it simple cuz I’m an old guy?

For the record I like kefir, nuts, soup/broth, asparagus, coffee, most all veggies, grapes, sprouts, yogurt and some meat of course. I am open to any suggestions.

Answer

My standard breakfast is plain yogurt with walnuts and maple syrup, hard boiled egg, coffee/tea.

Raw sauerkraut a couple hours later with my second meal.

Between the yogurt and the sauerkraut I keep the bacteria happy. I have no colon so it is kind of important.
