Hey guys! I’ve been doing rolling 72’s for a couple weeks now, but I usually break with a really carb-heavy meal which makes going into the next fast hellish. I heard switching to a protein-heavy meal makes the next fast easier, so I’d love to hear what protein people like to break their fast with. I’m not the biggest fan of steak or chicken, so I’m looking for ideas on here :)
IME it’s the carbs that make it hard (they increase cravings IME) but you don’t really need to go protein heavy, just low carbs.
As for what protein I like to break with: Fish (salmon or sardines), eggs (soft boiled for me but any way is fine). Also lots of raw nuts and seeds (pecans, macadamia, pistachio are my favs).
Edit: Also, Avocado!
Bacon n eggs are great add some sautéed mushrooms and some cheese with some seasoning you’ll be good to go. That’s keto. Make an omlette if you like.
Or cook a small piece of salmon with some butter salt pepper in pan on medium for 4 min each side and have some non starchy vegs like Zuchinni, cauliflower and a few mushrooms sautéed with butter on the side.
Keto: any kind of meat, fish, eggs, vegetables non starchy, healthy fats avocado, butter, ghee, olive oil, peanut butter nuts like almonds, pistachios, cashews
I pretty much always break my fasts with scrambled eggs with cheese on top. Somehow I never get tired of that meal and it perfectly satisfies me when I’m at the end of a long fast. I usually do 4 eggs which is around 350 calories, 4 g carbs, and 24 g of protein. Add that to whatever kind of cheese you like. Also super quick and easy to make.
