After days of research I'm still curious.

I’m a 5’8’ male. My starting weight is 290. My goal weight is 175 with some muscle packed on me. I want to do the 37 protocol with tdee refeeds. How much do you guys think is a realistic monthly weight loss goal?

I’ll be doing an hour walk 6 days a week and ring exercises (2 sets of each exercise on fasting days) as well.

I wanted to target a 5-6 month time span but am looking for people with experience to chime in.

Last time I weighed myself on one of those fancy machines it said I had about 135lb of muscle mass and 143lbs of “fat free body weight”. Means I have a lot of fat to lose and some muscle to gain.

What do you guys think? Is 15-20 pounds a month realistic?

Answer

The absolute fastest way to lose body fat is to not eat, aka fasting. It’s also very muscle-sparing since your body isn’t stupid, it’s going to go after fat before it goes after muscle.

I did a 6 day fast about 2 weeks ago and I lost 12 pounds. So if you’re rolling 72s and 168s - you’ll lose crazy amounts of weight. You can easily lose 30+ lbs a month.

Hi! I’ve been dryfasting and I lost about 13 pounds in about 3 days. If you stay dedicated and do 48s or 72s as someone else commented and do lean keto refeeds to stay in ketosis you will drop weight like a mother**. You can definitely lose more than 20 lbs a month doing so. 😎 You got this!
