almost broke my fast by grabbing a handful of snacks

The worst part is I’m not even hungry, I just saw the snacks and immediately reached to grab some. I’ve done this a few times and this is the first time I managed to catch myself before I ate it.

I wholeheartedly agree. Excellent progress noticing the behavior. Not it’s something you can keep in mind or track. I just started my IF journey between Christmas and New Year’s and have noticed a tendency to start browsing the house for snacks when I start doing sedentary activities (playing a computer game, binge-watching Netflix, etc.).

Now that my diet schedule is becoming more easily maintained and regular, I’m looking to add in more activity to improve the Calories Out side of the scales. I’m trying to find a time to work out that works with my schedule but I may also take the small win(s) like relaxing by taking up some projects in the woodshop instead of sitting in front of the computer/TV all night. At least I’d be mostly standing instead of sitting.

You gotta buy whole food snacks to trick yourself…

Popcorn has fiber, protein and it’s a grain and a vessel for salt to keep you feeling full of energy/nutrients

Packaged nuts that are only salted also helps especially the single serving stuff in bulk

And of course fruit you can’t go wrong with it it usually has plenty acceptable sugars, fiber and liquids

Also sparkling water in bulk if you need an alternative to water

And tea as an alternative to coffee

In any case make it convenient for yourself, whatever you can reach and prepare the quickest so that it’s your go to protocol

Also electrolytes for intense days or water fasting so like a drink mix that has vitamin c, etc,etc
