Almost quit just now.. but stayed strong

I am just passing the 4 day mark on my first successful water fast. I have to say I am still pretty hungry. I expected some magical ketosis relief of hunger but haven’t felt it yet. I read a bunch online about the benefits of water fasting and I am back on track.

I am mostly doing this for my weight, I am 6’5 270 pounds, but upon reading I realize this is a hugely benefiting diet for the body in many ways.

What should I look out for in the next day or two of my fast? Do seasoned fasters share my dread of hunger for 4 days straight? Nothing but water since day 1

the last days of the first week are pretty good actually. just one thing to watch out for, Eating out of boredom. i’ve done a lot of 3 day water fasts. my longest was 7 days. broke it because i was bored not hungry. i regret that decision.

I like your typo of casters. For me day 5 is when it got much easier and the hunger was really gone. Good job staying in there! As you continue on look into electrolytes, they help during any fast but for longer ones they’re essential. Snake juice is what I use, it’s cheap and easy to make.

Good job on sticking with it!

I’ve been fasting on and off for years. I fail fasts probably 90% of the time. I always go in planning to do really long fasts, like 21 days, but I usually end up quitting somewhere in the first 3 days. Fasting takes a tremendous amount of willpower.
