alternating 5 days fasting followed by 5 Days eating window

Hi everyone so due to persisting health issues I stated a medical water fasting few months ago 48 hr fast almost 3 times a month My question is can I execute protocol mentioned above for long period of time without risking any health setbacks… I need your advice thanks in advance :)

I agree with asking a doctor, while most of them will probably be against fasting and just want to prescribe you drugs left and right, try to find one online that is willing to support your fasting attempts? You could find one willing to monitor you, and if they’re far away, doing online appointments is an option.

Unfortunately not only most of us in the sub are not qualified to give medical advice, even if we were we don’t even know what health issues you have, what your general health stats are, etc. so it’s a moot point to ask us.

It depends on what your health issues are exactly, just be careful on the refeed, on the refeed eat 90% protein on a 5 day fast, this is good advice for fasting in general but the longer you fast the more extreme the effects of you ingest mainly glucose upon refeeds because your body is more accustomed to a fasting state due to homeostasis during longer fasts, some people literally die because they eat too much glucose, sodium is attracted to glucose and leaves body cells very quickly because your liver isn’t going to produce much insulin because now it isn’t used to this hypoglycemic state, and instead of glucose going into the cells and sodium staying into cells, it enters the blood stream, thickening the blood and can cause strokes, heart attacks, or even long term inflammation, other safety protocols to follow: take choline and sodium especially, these two chemicals are used in neurological pathways and inside of the body 24/7 and can only be produced via ingestion, obviously take your other electrolytes as well as you can become deficient, potassium, Zinc, Iron, etc.. but the first two is more important for longer fasts because if they get low, you can also die and because your body can break down certain parts of the body for the other electrolytes to survive ( although that isn’t ideal so just take ur damn electrolytes and vitamins ).
