I fast for autoimmune stuff. My experience is the same. Symptoms go away during the fast but come back when I start eating again. The symptoms aren’t as bad though so my plan is to keep at it.

I’m also small with low body fat. I’ve done a couple of 5 days. I’m going to try one 72 a month for a few months and see if that has any impact. I don’t have the energy on the longer fasts to be as active as I usually am and it sets back my gym progress. It’s hard to figure out what to do for the best.

Is your pain the same as before the fast? Are you doing any special diet? I switched to a vegan, mostly whole food, diet. It helped a lot but I’ve read others say the same about meat. I’ve done so many elimination diets but I can’t pin anything down. Cutting dairy has a massive impact but it didn’t help completely. And obviously I went the regular doctor route for years until I had to start taking medication to counter the side effects from the original medication. It’s so frustrating.

As mentioned going through trial and error elimination can help. I also have gout and found eliminated red meat, full fat dairy, nitrates and fried food worked best for me. I still eat lots of chicken, little beef or sea food.

It sux bad man. You have to study the arthritis diets. Hope it’s relatively cured soon. Lol I’m 36, outgoing, athletic, can barely walk sometimes. Aleve Naproxen Sodium helps, hydrating and electrolytes helps too.
