Am I doing something wrong?

31, F, 5’4” 72 kgs - I’ve been on IF since June, 2020 - when the pandemic started. 16hours and 8 hours - I eat within 8 hours - 2 hours, and continue to stay off food for the next 16 hours.

My issue: I saw a lot of changes in my body when I started out - now, not so much. Is my body getting used to it? How do I turn things around? I work out as well, not very consistent with it though.

Are you at a healthy weight? If so, yes it could very well be you’ve plateaued and natrually hit a maintence. If you need to lose more then I’d look at your caloric intake. People do plateau before they hit a healthy weight and that usually means they need to look at their diet and lifestyle and determine what unhealthy habits or healthy habits they need to alter.

Answer

It almost always depends on the daily calories, the time of day in which you consume them does not affect whether or not you lose weight as the days go by. The best and most effective strategy is to count the calories you are consuming daily (the more precise, the better), make a weekly average and see how your weight varies, if it doesn’t drop, you have two options. Or you lower your calories, maybe adding a few more cardio sessions, or if you are already at a caloric level too low and going down becomes unsustainable, you should implement a Reverse Diet in which you slowly increase the calories, return to normocaloric and after a few weeks you start again with the caloric deficit. You see it as a ferris wheel going up and down, the process is always the same.
