I’m feeling the urge to do a 7 day water only fast, but I am currently taking antidepressants. Is it okay to go ahead and fast and continue taking my medication as prescribed? Or is fasting that long while on antidepressants not advised?
DO NOT stop taking your antidepressant! By the end of the week you will be in danger of a bad mood dip. The recurrence of depression may seem like the result of fasting but it’s not. It will be because of the diminished effect of your medication as it leaves your system. Fasting is not in conflict with your depression unless you stop the meds. Go for it! You’ll feel better about yourself.
