Any concerns about doing a 4 day fast?

I am relatively new to fasting. I have been doing OMAD for the past two and a half months. I want to try doing a 3 - 4 day water fast. However, I am concerned about any health problems I might face like passing out or feeling severely weak. What should I to prevent these from happening?

Thank you

I’ve been doing weekly three day fasts (this is my third week) and that depends on your body composition. I have a lot of weight to lose so all I really need is water. But a lot of people recommend adding salt or some electrolytes. 4 days is about as long as you want to go without having to worry too much about refeeding syndrome. In terms of activity, that’s dependent on the individual, I helped a buddy move in the sun all day last week and felt fine. Good luck!

Hello! I regularly do 5-day fasts Monday-Friday. I think since it’s your first time going beyond OMAD, you should expect to feel some mild symptoms like headache and tiredness on day 2. That’s just your body getting accustomed to the extended fast. But it will definitely help if you drink plenty of water, and take some salt as needed! For many people, a little bit of salt will fix their headache.

Assuming you’re in good health and are eating nutritious food beforehand, you shouldn’t feel severely weak or pass out. If you do, definitely stop the fast as that’s abnormal. Good luck!
