Any tips for a Intermittent Fasting Starter?

I just started fasting about 3 weeks ago. I can’t seem to get into the lifestyle. I try to exercise often during the day, and try to limit my eating. But nothing seems to be really working. I’ve even gained about 3-4 pounds.

Any tips? Anything that you think would be extremely useful? I really want to lose weight, but it’s just start difficult.

You are 15 and still growing. This is prime time for muscle development and setting yourself up for a healthy life. I wouldn’t be doing IF if I were you.

Instead focus on eating well, cut out sugary crap and don’t snack between meals. Do regular exercise. If I could go back in time and give my 15 year old self fitness advice I would say doing regular pullups is one of the best habits you can get into. If you can do 10-15 pullups at the drop of a hat you know you’re not a slob.

Find some kind of cardio that you enjoy doing. For me it is running but you might prefer swimming or bike riding or whatever. If you enjoy it you won’t have to force yourself to do it.

In my opinion you just need to get into healthy habits and exercise now, and you can leave IF at least until you’ve finished growing.

Answer

100% IMHO IF is not for you right now. You’re still growing and need those calories.

If you are not happy with your body composition, I would suggest some strength training and cardio along with a healthy diet. You’ll see good results within a year.

When I was 21, I was 5’11” 250lbs, not a trace of muscle. Started doing a run to the gym, 30min workout, run home routine and in two years was down to 185lbs. And a very muscular, fit 185. I also joined the army so there was pressure to not be a complete slob lol.

Good luck!

Answer

The easiest one is skipping Breakfast and eat only 12 and 18. That would be around 18 hrs fasting per day.

-

Next step is to skip lunch and that would be 23+ hrs fasting per day.

If you love this, then next can try one meal per two days(47+ hrs fasting), one meal per three days(71+ hrs fasting)….
