Anybody have a harder time fasting on their period?

I just find that I get hungrier far quicker than I normally would I’m starting to think maybe I have knocked myself out of ketosis I’m not sure?

Answer

Yes!! It’s like my hormones drive my brain crazy. Doing 16s, 18s becomes hard. I am going to try fat fasting on those really bad craving days to try and get through it then get back to my ADF (alternate day fasting)routine. Since going back to ADF two weeks ago, I haven’t had crazy cravings yet, kinda waiting for it to hit me. But hoping to knock it out by going extreme low carb. I heard this on a fasting podcast as a suggestion to get though hell week in regards to cravings. Fat fasting was explained as sticking to bacon, eggs, salmon, avocado, olives, some heavy cream for coffee, couple other items. Basically a limited menu, very low carb.

YES

I usually don’t IF the first day of my period (which is the worse day for me). Skipping fasting the first day is necessary because I get bad cramps and taking ibuprofen on an empty stomach isn’t something I want to do. The rest of my period I try to IF, my cravings are soooo strong but I usually keep up with the fasting by ending my day with peppermint tea.
