This has happened to me. I deal with it by making sure that I at least have one protein shake during my 8 hour eating window. Even though I’m not hungry, I don’t want to skip eating entirely for more than 24 hours.
No, I still want my dinner—not always as ravenously as I might have once expected—but I do. Since you say these aversions began a few months ago, before starting IF, I’m guessing they spring from another source. Definitely discuss with your doctor, and make yourself eat something healthy when possible.
You don’t say what you have been eating, daily calorie count, macros, so we cannot get a full picture of what you’re doing.
It does sound like you have metabolic issues going on and many times this is connected to nutrition.
I also wonder if intermittent fasting is a cover for anorexia here, because sometimes it is. The relentless weight loss focus of some groups can create a place for anorexics to hide, in a way.
I would find an IF-friendly medical professional to talk to, sooner than later. Dr Jason Fung’s Fasting Method group offers consultations, and I’m sure there are other good people out there. I have no affiliation with Dr Fung or anything about Fasting Method, but they seem to me to offer some advice.
