I have been doing variously 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 since June 2021. I have lost around 20-30 lbs since then (5’2” CW 140 as of this morning). Exercise has been walking between 3-4 miles per day. Anyway, recently I decided to step up the exercise and am on day 20 of Tracy Anderson metamorphosis. It’s a 90 day thing. I’ve definitely been eating more but since I started the TA 20 days ago I have put on about 4 or 5 lbs. My clothes fit the same and I feel good but I was surprised by this. I know it could be muscle, it could be a CICO/TDEE problem, it could be cortisol from work stress, but tbh I was surprised as this is a lot of weight for my small frame. Was just wondering if others have done this particular program and what their experience has been.
Stop looking at the scale and start looking at how your body looks and how your clothes fit, especially if in a weight training program. Ot sure about the TA method. I know she’s really good though, my wife does her workouts.
IMHO Tracy Anderson workouts wouldn’t elicit that kind of muscle bulk in that short period of time, but even if they did the only way to know is of you had a comparison of your body fat and muscle % from before the workouts and now. Is there anything else that’s different? Are you still walking? Period? Medication changes? Sleeping? Consuming sodium heavy foods? Bowel movement? The stress and cortisol can do horrid things to our bodies in terms of retaining lbs and water. Are you tracking your food? I find we tend to underestimate, sometimes over estimate, our food consumption. I’ve gone through things like this so I thought I’d share. Vitamin deficiencies can also play a role.
If you feel good, and your clothes feel the same, start tracking your food, if you are not doing so already, and see what happens in the next few days. It could balance itself out! I hope this helps 😊
