Anyone else have high bilirubin levels due to fasting?

I had been alternate day fasting then I was feeling like crap one day so I go see my GP, he orders standard blood tests for me and it comes back I had 3.2 bilirubin but my other stuff was in normal ranges. I’ve read up a few studies that said that fasting often causes this. My glucose was 75; I wonder how common that is.

At the time of the test I had been fasting 22 hours and had been alternating 24 hr fasts several days prior. Anyone else get an outcome like this on a blood test?

Answer

Interesting. I just had mine tested and I’ve been fasting rolling 68s since 1/28. My test was the day after I ate, and my results were total bilirubin 0.3, direct bilirubin <0.1. A month ago, a week before I started the rolling fasts, I had total bilirubin of 0.5 and 0.1 direct bilirubin.
