Anyone else love the feeling of not eating for a while?

My head feels all clear and fresh and I feel like I can hear sounds better. I don’t even fast to lose weight anymore, I just fast for the feeling.

Answer

Absolutely. Feeling myself be a little bit hungry ensures that I am not eating out of boredom or emotions.

Also when I am surfing having a full stomach sucks. I originally started IF because of this but found I really enjoyed it.

Answer

I have to be honest and say not at all. I have always enjoyed eating. The experience of food, the social element and the range of cuisine available is so important to me. My fasting is not part of my identity. In fact I dislike it. I fast purely for health benefits and to improve my willpower. I have never been overweight or had food issues so I have higher reasoning for undertaking such an arduous lifestyle

I know others on this sub have the opposite experience but I have to speak up to represent the full range of motivations and experiences.

I do something that I don’t enjoy because I know that it is good for me.

I am happy with that.

I’ve started to do OMAD occasionally where I have my lunch, but then don’t feel like eating in the evening. Next morning i wake up renewed, feel very good.

And this just happened… Organically, like i didn’t even plan to do it.

I’ve always done OMAD having only dinner since I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep properly without it, but honestly having lunch and skipping dinner is a lot better for me: lunches at work? No problem, lunch with family? No problem. Most dinners are at home so very easy to skip.

I’m on day four of a fast and I’m easily confused and I have trouble concentrating. But my blood glucose is at 65 mg/dL right now which would make me hypoglycemic so the confusion makes sense I guess…

I’ve been on multiple extended fasts (15 days is my max) and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that feeling of clarity that many people describe.

Answer

I discovered that when I did my first fast just this past weekend. I felt really light and refreshed, and i was in a really good mood the entire time. Im used to feeling sluggish and bloated all the time, so it was a wonderful feeling.

I had planned the fast as just a one-off to help kickstart my new eating regimen, but I loved how it made me feel so much that I’m planning on making it a habit.

I just said the other day to my partner I love being hungry. And he was like ???? And I’m like yeah, being hungry and imagining the next thing you are going to eat is a sweet spot!! But I don’t fast longer than 24 hrs, I don’t think I could last 48+ hrs thinking like this 😂

Answer

I absolutely love food but I hate the feeling right after I’ve eaten. I always get heart palpitations and feel so tired and lethargic after. When I fast I’ve always felt so much better. Feeling full feels horrible even tho I love the act of eating
