So I don’t eat till 2 but if I’m at work and I look at the clock it’s 2:15 I’ll go okay I’ll wait till 2:30 than I got over again so okay I’ll wait till 3. It’s almost 3 now & now I’m not even hungry anyway…I guess I’ll just keep going?
This is a generally good strategy for overcoming brief cravings, too.
I’ve been OMAD for so long that it’s very rare for me to feel real hunger before about 5 pm, but I use this when I’m attempting to complete a longer fast or when I’m craving junk after my one meal. I set a timer for 30 minutes and make myself wait that long before I cave. Usually it’s long enough for the craving to fade and my determination to come back. If it’s not, I go ahead and cave. Sometimes cravings just demand to be felt.
I usually get hungry for a little bit at around 8-9 am but once that passes I don’t really get hungry for well past 16 hours unless I work out. Honestly boredom is a much bigger obstacle for me than actual hunger.
This is how people end up doing OMAD. It’s how I started. I just got hungry later and later in the day. I try to tell people that who marvel at my willpower but they just can’t understand until they try IF and have it happen to them.
