I’ve been doing IF for a year which has definitely contributed to some of my weight loss but I have kind of hit a plateau. My eating window is around 12-7 but I dirty fast by adding 1 tbsp of cream in my coffee every morning which I know isn’t great so I’ve been debating on making my eating window 6-2 to compensate for my coffee and cream. Just curious if anyone has switched from the tradition 11-7 to eating breakfast and not dinner and what your experience is.
I eat in the mornings from around 8 - 2, give or take. I feel wonderful and have lost nearly 50 lbs in the last year. Skipping dinner has saved me a lot of money and stomach discomfort actually.
One thing of note, I found out that I am severely iron deficient. I used to wake up and have coffee, all kinds of protein, and thought it was the best plan ever because I could just eat one meal and not be hungry the rest of the day. I have since learned that coffee can inhibit iron absorption, so I can’t have the coffee and meat together, and I have incorporated fruits after coffee and before meat because fruits help put back what coffee has eliminated (for me that’s bananas lmao) and also fruit preps the gut for my larger meal around lunchtime. I prefer OMAD but since I like coffee, I now have coffee time, fruit time, meal time, and I feel absolutely amazing and even my hair has benefited from me tackling my absorption issues through eating fruit.
Good luck!
