Anyone know of an app that doesn’t make you set a time goal?

I like to leave my fasting flexible and go anywhere from 18 hours to 3 days when fasting. I usually haven’t even decided how long I’ll fast once I start, and I also get really discouraged if I decide I want to fast for a certain amount of time and don’t make it that far. Every fasting app I’ve seen makes you set a goal for how long you want to fast and will count down for you until you’ve reached that goal. I really dislike this model for the reasons above. Does anyone know of an app that just allows you to start your fast and track it without setting an end time? Obviously I could just set a basic timer but I enjoy the apps that track your fasting trends and tell you where you’re body is at during a fast (ketosis, autophagy, etc).

Answer

My suggestion is to set your timer to 18hrs and enjoy all the extra time that racks up when you choose to extend your fast. For me, hitting my goal feels so good that I generally almost always keep going and at that point you’re already winning. I’m doing 20 hour fast, five days a week. But they usually end up being more like 22 hours… But I love hitting that 20 hour mark and watching all the extra fasting time pile up.
