Are 72s enough to see the benefit of weight loss, or is longer needed

Currently 27/120 hour fast. Would doing 72 be enough to see the benefits of weight loss like I see others have. Or is a prolonged fast really the best way to reap the benefits of weight loss by fasting?

Also a little extra is anyone can answer. How much muscle mass will I lose by fasting ?

I was doing rolling 44s for about a month, but then for the last few weeks I switched to straight OMAD due to family needs and stressful travel. I’m losing weight nicely just the same. The only difference is that my weight loss is more steady instead of fluctuating +-2lbs every day.

I started alternate-day fasting a little over a week ago. (So 24- to 36-hour fasts, depending.) I’ve already dropped 7lbs and am wearing jeans I haven’t been able to fit over my butt in at least 5 years. So, no, you don’t need to do extended fasts. Shorter ones will also do the trick.
