Are bicarbonate of soda and baking soda the same thing?

Sorry if this is asked a lot but I’ve read through questions and the side bar and I can’t find the answer. I’m in the UK and I can’t find baking soda. I’ve look online and I’ve found conflicting articles about whether they are the same or not. Does anyone know if I can use bicarbonate of soda in my electrolyte drink in place of baking soda? Thanks a lot!
