Are there any dangers to OMAD / time-restricted feeding if meals are really late at night?

I have been going back and forth from OMAD at 6-7pm to 20-4 with a feeding window between 5pm-9pm for a few months. Worked great for me so far. However recently I started a job in the afternoons and evenings and I can’t keep up with my schedule anymore. I have a dinner break at 5pm-5.30pm and no matter how much I eat (I spend 25min just munching) I get really hungry around 12pm when I come back home. I eat at 12am and usually go to bed around 1-2am based on how much chores I have. I am screwing myself with moderate to large meals this late in the evening? I haven’t felt any adverse effects so far, but that has been only 2 weeks.

I am a male, late 20s, 90kg right now, 70kg goal weight (198 to 158 pounds in imperial). With 40 hours physical job I need at least 2000 kcals, 2900 for maintenance according to some calculator. Any suggestions for better fasting schedule if midnight meals are bad for me?

Edit: fixed pm/am for eating and sleeping time

Answer

My understanding is that as long as you’re sleeping well it’s fine. Most of the advice for not eating before bed is for cutting out bad snacking habits and food choices associated with having something after dinner.

Though for some having a lot of food before trying to sleep will mess up their sleep cycles and messing up your sleep will dovetail into a lot of issues. Probably want to keep at least 2 hours between eating and sleeping when possible.
