are there any good studies on dry fasting?

Completed my first dry fast - 55 hours. It induced satiety but also back pain. Does anyone have good studies on the medical risks and effects of dry fasting? And how do we know when to break the fast?

Answer

Have you read Phoenix Protocol? There is a very specific breakout of what to expect every day from the perspective of the two Russian doctors whose studies form the basis of the protocol. There is also a good book by Sergey Filonov on Amazon. In the late 20th century when big pharma was forming and the US became inundated with drugs for everything, in Russia the doctors were doing studies on self healing, with a lot of dry fasting studies. No big pharma in Siberia.Good luck to you! BTW I get lower back pain when I DF as well, but less all the time. It’s been suggested that perhaps there is an old injury there, I suspect that is true.
