Attempting 48 hours! First time. Any words of encouragement?

After a weekend full of indulgence from thanksgiving im very puffy. So im feeling motivated and ready to go a little longer than last time!

Ive done 36 hrs before, and the hardest part was falling asleep and staying asleep. I work tomorrow night so im nervous about that, but maybe staying busy will help!

I do a 48 hour fast once a week. My suggestion is consider the time you start your fast. I always start my fast after lunch. That makes the first day super easy because Im full from lunch, miss dinner and go to sleep. The second day is the only tough day. The third day I wake up and look forward to a light lunch.

I’ve tried all other time starts and this works best for me…

I won’t say 48 hours is easy. You’ll feel hunger. You’ll probably feel restless and end up in the kitchen before you forget you’re not eating. But it’s easily doable. Around the third day I start feeling like I’m on a fast. Things get clear. Stomach feels empty but doesn’t complain too much. Two days is all mental.

I just completed my first 48 hr fast this weekend . I’d say after hour 30 it got easier for me . I noticed whenever I got a little hungry I would get up and take a walk or go outside . Any activity reduced hunger. Also Coke Zero and coffee helped me through the worst of my hunger pains which is night time for me . Also sleep whenever u become agitated from hunger . Make yourself lay down and close your eyes and don’t move and u will doze eventually . It’s all about whose in control and that’s your mind . U control when u eat and drink and that’s that

Seize the day

Water, water and then more water. Try to time it so its less inconvenience for you. I went from not being able to go past the fridge without snacking to I know do regular 72hrs fasts.

Good luck on your journey
