Autophagy and loose skin?

Boys and girls, I have 50 kg to loose and I’m worried about loose skin (45/M). Have any of you actually experienced loose skin tightening up during longer term fasting? It is often listed as one of the possible effects of autophagy, but what is your experience?

Answer

If you have 50kg to lose you’re going to have loose skin regardless. Don’t let that hold you back. You’re going to be a lot happier 50kg lighter with loose skin than you will 50kg overweight.

But first things first, you’re getting ahead of yourself. You need to lose the 50kg first to worry about the loose skin. Start today because you’ll regret being in the same spot months from now.

Answer

It’s impossible to say because it depends on your body. I know women who gave birth and have lots of stretchmarks, while I have zero. It’s just luck. (The same is probably true for men.) Some skin handles the stress extra well. Will it be noticeable you lost massive amounts of weight? Probably, but no body is perfect. If in doubt, choose what’s better for you, and that’s the thinner body.
