Bad hypoglycemia during a fast?

I’ve been shaky and dizzy. Am hour 18 of fast.

Very non fat adapted. High carb meal yesterday.

Had lots of snake juice, aka electrolytes.

Answer

Some people can jump into a long fast others need to work up to it. I suggest working up to longer fasts unless you have some severe issues that can’t wait. If you are consuming caffeine, I’d cut that out as well. Your fasts will go much better if you are at least halfway fat adapted. MCT and BHB might not be a bad idea either. You might need even more snake juice. If you have a long history of stress, or adrenal fatigue I’d take it slow with increasing your fasting window.

Answer

Since you say you were shaky and dizzy, I believe you; these are objective feelings.

But, when you mentioned hypoglycemia in your post’s title, I wasn’t 100% convinced that it was definitely hypoglycemia.

Did you test your blood sugar?

If not, why do you think that your blood sugar was low?

It might have been, but it also might not have been.

Also, out of curiosity: did you also test your blood pressure at the time?
