Beginner question

If my baseline is 3000 roughly and I want to lose 3lbs a week, will a deficit every other day be enough? So, in 2 weeks, I’ve fasted 7 days, which would be 21,000 calories total.

21,000 / 3,500 = 6/2 = 3 lbs weekly

Answer

Yes but not like that. For example when I went to they gym tonight i burnt 200cal on the treadmill but not part of my daily baseline (approximately 2500) because your body has to use up more energy from (fat) stores.

Please don’t stop eating for two weeks cold turkey. You should build up 12,16,18 etc . Also when you eat healthy your body automatically works harder like the first week of slimming world someone lost 13lb but was still eating.

Answer

Are you talking about alternate day fasting? As in, eat your maintenance level of 3000 calories one day, and nothing at all the day after, and repeat? If that’s what you mean, then yeah, your math should check out.
