Beginner question: How to curb the feeling of going to bed hungry?

Hello, I began IF sometime in 2021 Summer, and lost about 25-30lbs (starting wt: 170lbs) in combination with exercise. However, there are days, where I eat a proper meal (300+ cals!!) that break my fast, at 10pm or 11pm, because I am unable to find ways to divert and be disciplined.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions to overcome this ‘hunger’ before sleep. Thank you!

Answer

Nobody feels real hunger after only a few hours of fasting. What you’re feeling is just the product of habit, specially if you used to eat as a way to feel better or distract yourself. Once you break that habit you’ll have more control over it.

Answer

Things that work for me.

  1. Herbal Tea.
  2. Water, sparkling water
  3. Just deal with it.

Maybe change your times. I’ve down 6-10 for my window so I can have a snack or tea after dinner. I usually go to bed around 11pm or midnight. Might work for you.
