What is the thing with the “rice and chicken diet”? I feel like both people who are cutting and bulking are eating like that?! (Not everyone, I know:)). High or low in calories? I don’t understandddd
I think more than it being the best diet ever, it is a very versatile base for many meals. You can get lots of different flavors and mix and match other ingredients as well to hit whatever nutrient macros are needed while also sustaining the proper amount of protein and carbs for working out
It’s clean and pure macros! Chicken, typically chicken breast is assumed in a ‘chicken and rice diet’ is pretty much pure protein, no fat or carbs. Rice is pure carbs. Fat is eliminated and often consumed via other parts of the day.
When you’re tracking macros it’s much easier to count whole ‘ingredient’ macros. It’s not about it being high or low calories, but high in their pure macronutrient offering.
People who are cutting and bulking often are very aware of their nutritional intake and count macros, and like others have said, it’s easy to scale! More or less protein needed? Add/subtract x oz of chicken. More/less carbs? Add/subtract y oz of rice!
