I’m very wary of any supplements or drugs being used for sleep.

Many sleeping pill and even supplements act as CNS depressants, depressing the brain helping you become unconscious. But that’s not the same as sleep, in some stages of sleep your brain is more active than when you are awake.

The main treatment for insomnia is CBT and fixing your circadian rhythm. Studies show that these methods are more effective than sleeping pills.

Chamomile. It works really well. I make myself a nice extra strong cup of tea or they also have chamomile extract in some sleep supplements. It’s the only thing that’s worked for me aside from prescription strength meds.
