Curious if anyone has any info about stuff like phytic acid in hemp protein powders?
Many brands claim to have 60% of the RDA for magnesium in a serving, but wouldn’t the amount you actual absorb be a lot less due to the “anti-nutrients” in hemp, much like the calcium in spinach?
-“Hemp seed has 6-7% phytic acid in hemp defatted flour which is much higher than soy (2%)(Russo et al., 2013), which can interfere with absorption of some nutrients. “—-Hemp: a Composition Review plus - Cal Poly Digital Commons, cal poly.. edu
might as well buy whole hemp seed and roast and/or boil them, then put in the blender. i tried that and there is not anything worse tasting. maybe we dont have to do that since i have just put whole hemp seeds in water and drank it without a blender and it made me sleepy?
