Blood donation

Apparently blood yes, plasma no?

The common wisdom is that donating blood weakens you and thus being on a ‘weakened fasted state’ would be a double whammy that would make you faint right then and there. We all know that this is not necessarily the case.

On the other hand the problem with donating plasma is that part of the process uses sodium citrate so the blood doesn’t coagulate while in the machine. On an empty stomach this can cause a very nasty reaction.
