Blood glucose increased after drinking lemon water with salts

Is this normal?

Last meal I had was yesterday at 4:30pm. Before drinking 800ml of lemon water with salts, my glucose was at 101 and 20 mins after drinking it I was at 109.

Answer

As a diabetic I would say that’s normal.. you’re body converts everything to sugar. What probably happen is once you consume the food it releases stored glucose from your liver because it knows it has some coming in. An 8 point jump isn’t a big deal. That also might just be your regular range of fluctuation. So don’t fret. I’m not a professional so take what I say with a grain of salt

Yeah, I just broke a 48h fast with a 3 mile run and then ate. My blood sugar before eating was close to 120 from a 90 this morning. So I’m reading that my body is pulling glucose from my liver to do this. Perhaps it’s the same effect for you?
