Book recommendation

Do you guys know of a book, other than Dr. Fung’s, that has something new to add instead of rehashing the same things? I was hoping something from another MD with additional results and insights.

Dr. Valter Longo’s work, and his book The Longevity Diet, look at fasting from a longevity standpoint, although he expends a lot of effort trying to figure out how to keep people from needing to actually fast. I also really like Dr Peter Attia’s stuff (mostly his podcast), who also comes at it from more of a longevity viewpoint. There are also tons of research articles and literature reviews lately that you can find great info in, although they’re more difficult reads because they’re meant for other researchers.

I came to fasting for the weight loss, but it’s the exciting longevity research that I expect to keep me motivated to maintain.

Consider Gin Stephens. She’s gaining a tremendous amount of respect in the community.

Her best book is Fast, Feast, and Repeat.

She has a new book coming out in January called Cleanish.

You can find podcasts/interviews by Dr. Mark Mattson and Dr. Rhonda Patrick. It can get quite sciency, but in depth.

Also anything by Tim Spector. His recent book, Diet Myth. He actually wrote the forward to Gin Stephen’s new book, Cleanish.
