Breaking fast with fruit causes acid reflux, what best primes the guts before eating fruit?

I was loving my fruit salads in the late mornings, was on top of the world, then i was getting a weird lump sensation in my throat and took forever to find out it was acid reflux. Anyway, when i knew it was my healthy diet that was actually fucking me i fell off the wagon ffs. Now i wanna get going again but what can i break my fast with?
