Building muscle while dry fasting?

Hey everyone. I’ve been experiencing dry fasting routine of 3-5 days a week and have seen great results. I want to start weight training and building muscle. Would this be a possibility with my current dry fast routine? I have about 40 more lbs of fat to lose should I wait until then to start lifting?

Answer

It’s like asking to do overtime work on your vacation.

Fasting is for healing, you can also use it to lose weight. Not building muscle. Relax and rest, the gym can wait. Do your training when you refeed.

Answer

I have found that muscle building is significantly more efficient when in a dry fasted state. I do 15-20 hour every day and work out with just my body weight. It’s much easier to cut muscle when it isn’t trying to digest food and what nots people here seem to say the opposite, I would guess it is because of ignorance or that they haven’t allowed their body to clean itself out before attempting to work out and gain muscle. Do take it slow and don’t try and do what you normally do until you work up to it; but, in my experience, you should be able to do greater things without foods/water.

50h on DF and just came from gym.

im doing 10x10 normally but when fasting i switch to 8x8, same weight. its not that bad before day 5. after 5 i stick purely to hill sprints/ring exercises because i dont have a better home gym, if I had - would like to lift heavy everyday.

muscle wise dunno, but I really feel the workouts in my belly fat XD
