Burned the roof of my mouth on refeed.. anyone ever get this?

Broke an 80 hour fast this on Friday night started with 2 keto balls (cacao walnuts peanut butter) and the rough texture chafed the roof then I had a keto meal (meal prep company) it was spicy and i felt the roof of my mouth burning.

Woke up yesterday with the roof of mouth super sore and painful and it might’ve triggered my sinuses as my whole face feels like i just got wisdom teeth pulled. Swallowing hurts and the roof of my mouth closer to my tonsils looks reddish and a little white. Popped 3 advils to ease the pain as I feel terrible.

Only drinking cold water or sucking on ice helps. Also putting orajel on it 3x a day. Anyone ever have this? I had it before but never this bad

Answer

Yes, I think you needed probiotics to prevent that. I was in your place a few years back, with a seriously sore roof of my mouth after breaking a week-long fast. I was later told that probiotics would prevent this. Just have some kimchi or yogurt as the first thing that you eat. Nice and easy and a few hours later you’ll be eating lots of stuff with no pain!
